Cardinal Bird – Contemporary Wall Art Sculpture

This beautiful Cardinal bird sculpture is handcrafted from used stainless steel cutlery and mounted on a natural olive wood plaque.

A special request from a customer inspired this design — after a bit of research and careful crafting, I’m pleased with the outcome, and so was my customer!

The bird is polished to a high mirror finish, mounted on an olive wood plaque measuring approximately 31cm high by 14cm wide. The silverware may show some marks from its past life and, adding unique character, no two birds are alike as each one is individually handmade.

These sculptures are not factory-made — each piece is crafted by hand with care and attention to detail.

A sturdy wall bracket is fixed to the back for easy mounting.

Each piece is bespoke and unique, making it a wonderful gift. The shape and size of the olive wood plaque may vary slightly but won’t affect the beauty or quality of the finished piece.

I spend a lot of time sourcing used cutlery from flea markets, car boots, and charity shops. Polishing takes considerable effort and care — it’s this process that transforms the cutlery into fine art, appreciated by my customers time and time again.
