🪶 Cutlery Robin – Handmade Metal Bird Sculpture

This plucky little robin began life as ordinary cutlery — now reborn with charm and cheer.
Handmade from recycled spoons and forks, he stands bright-eyed and ready to bring a little joy wherever he lands. Robins are often seen as symbols of new beginnings and loved ones near — a gentle reminder that hope can perch quietly in the everyday.

Every robin has its own personality. Each spoon curve and fork tine bends differently, so no two are ever alike. From the tilt of its head to the set of its wings, your robin will be a true one-of-a-kind companion.

I was in the process of making the Robin and thought of what design of cutlery to use, and came across the red spoons, which were a great addition to the red-breasted bird.

After making the bird, it is then polished to a high mirror finish. The size of the wood plaque is 31cm high and 14cm wide. This is all made from stainless steel and so it won’t rust

These birds are very bespoke and unique, and a wonderful gift to give
The Olive wood may vary in shape and size, but it won’t affect the finished piece

I spend a lot of time sourcing used cutlery from flea markets and car boots. and charity shops, I then spend much time polishing the cutlery, it's this process that takes all the time, I like a great art piece, and so do my customers.

Each bird is made from pre-loved materials, so you may notice subtle signs of their past life. These imperfections add character and reflect the handmade nature of each piece.

You can also place this bird outdoors in a covered area for a touch of charm in your garden.
